Mi nombre es Ivonne Luz Manay-Wallerus, y los estudiantes de Adams me llaman Señora Manay. Originalmente soy de Perú graduada con titulo en Derecho y Ciencias Políticas de la Escuela de Derecho San Martin de Porres en Lima, Perú.

En 2002, hice la transición a Estados Unidos, viviendo en varios lugares como Erie, NYC y Boston antes de establecerme en Minnesota en 2006. La decisión de mudarme a Minnesota fue impulsada por mi fuerte deseo de regresar a un lugar que guardaba recuerdos entrañables: fue el primer lugar donde residí fuera de Perú cuando pasé mi último año de secundaria en Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, como estudiante de intercambio.

Después de casi ocho años trabajando en el campo legal en Estados Unidos, mi carrera tomó un nuevo rumbo en 2010 cuando incursioné en la educación. Mi trayecto en Adams comenzó como asistente de maestra por muy corto tiempo, lo que me llevó a obtener una licencia de maestra suplente, luego una licencia provisional para posteriormente inscribirme en el programa de licenciatura en la Universidad Concordia, del cual me gradué.

Fuera del trabajo, disfruto pasar tiempo de calidad con mi familia y amigos, practicar carrera, explorar oportunidades de viaje por el mundo y organizar picnics.

Este marca mi decimocuarto año en Adams, con trece años como maestra. Mi experiencia docente abarca desde KG hasta 2º grado. Ahora estoy emocionada por emprender el tercer año académico como maestra de Pre-K y ser la maestra de su estudiante. Juntos, nos adentraremos en un año lleno de aprendizaje, nuevas experiencias, excursiones, juegos y, lo más importante, el fomento de un ambiente familiar cercano.

My name is Ivonne Manay-Wallerus, and I am referred to as Señora Manay by the students at Adams. Originally from Peru, I hold a degree in Law and Political Sciences from Saint Martin Law School in Lima, Peru.

In 2002, I made the transition to the United States, residing in various places such as Erie, NYC, and Boston before settling in Minnesota in 2006. The decision to move to Minnesota was driven by my strong desire to return to a place that held cherished memories - it was the first place I resided outside of Peru when I spent my senior year of high school in Sleepy Eye, MN as an exchange student.

Following nearly eight years of working in the legal field in the United States, my career took a new trajectory in 2010 when I ventured into education. My journey at Adams began as a teaching assistant for less than half a year, which led me to obtain a substitute teaching license which I used for a very short period of time then I obtained a provisional license with which I began my career as a classroom teacher and It led to me subsequently enrolling in the  in the licensure program at Concordia University, from which I graduated.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, engaging in running, exploring global travel opportunities, and hosting picnics.

This marks my thirteenth year at Adams, with twelve years spent as a teacher. My teaching experience spans across KG, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade. I am now thrilled to embark on the third academic year as your child's Pre-K teacher. Together, we will engage in a year filled with learning, novel experiences, field trips, games, and most importantly, the cultivation of a close-knit family environment.
