First Grade

Our school has four sections of first grade, all run by experienced teachers. The classes start at 9:30 and end at 4:00. During the first hours of the day we have a literature block when we study various aspects of reading and writing. In the afternoon we study math and science or social studies. We also have specialist classes that rotate everyday: art, music, physical education, and science. Our thematic units are reinforced with classroom activities or visits/field trips to local institutions.
