Adams Spanish Immersion is based on Donald J. Treffinger's Levels of
Service (LoS) Framework. These services are categorized for ALL, MANY,
SOME or a FEW students. The level of service depends on the educational
needs and abilities of the students.
Service For All Differentiated Curriculum -Writer’s Workshop- Students choose own writing topic based on interest/passion, Publishing Parties. -Reader’s Workshop- Guided reading groups at instructional reading level. -Everyday Math- Flexible groups in math working on secure skills, enrichment activities. -Specialist rotation (Computer, Music, Phy.Ed, Science, Art, Language Enrichment) -Cultural enrichment and cognitive benefits of immersion education -Science fair -Fieldtrips -Talent show -Awards assemblies -Hispanic interns sharing cultural experiences and language -Guest speakers/presentations -Performing arts (Connect St. Paul Chamber Orchestra visiting musicians and school concerts) -Assemblies (Climb Theater- Respect) -Paws for Learning Program (Trained educational assistance dogs enhancing the learning of students) -Project based learning -Community education classes (chess, soccer, salsa dancing) -Community building (grade level dinners) -Food drive (Kids Against Hunger event) -Read-a-thon Walk (read and exercise) -Recycling Program (food waste and paper)
Service For Many -Estrellita Phonics and Phonemic Awareness Progam (K-1) -Climb Theater- Higher education awareness (4th-6th grades) -Band (4th-6th grades) -Strings (3rd-6th grades) -Cross grade-level partnerships (classroom buddies and 5th/6th ambassadors) -Technology integration projects -Arts For All Grant (collaborative literacy project with MN Center For Book Arts, 4th-6th grades) -Junior Achievement (grades 3rd and 5th)
Service For Some -State project (4th grade) -District middle level spelling bee -Geography fair -Destination Imagination -International videoconferencing with Nicaragua (water purification) -Pen Pals -Concordia Language Village – 4 days (grades 5th-6th) -Wellness Initiative - Salsa Garden -Steps to Respect Bully Prevention Awareness Curriculum (4th-6th grades) -U.N.
