Bio Stephanie DeFrance learned Spanish during her undergraduate studies at
Gustavus Adolphus College, and interned in Bogotá, Colombia with former
street children. After working in educational non-profit organizations,
she received her teaching degree in English as a Second Language from
Hamline University. She will be completing her Master's degree soon.
Sra. DeFrance especially enjoys reading, and encouraging her students
to read!//
Stephanie DeFrance aprendió español mientras
estudiando en Gustavus Adolphus College. Estudió español en Bogotá,
Colombia donde hizo una pasantía enseñando niños quy hayan vivido en
las calles. Despúes que trababja en organizaciones no lucrativas y
educativas, recibió su licencia de inglés para extranjeros de la
universidad de Hamline. Va a recibir su maestría muy pronto. A la sra.
DeFrance le gusta leer y ayudar sus estudiantes con la lectura. |
Schedule Mornings, Sra. DeFrance supports ELL students in math (in flexible groups). In the afternoons, she co-teaches during the English hour in Reader's Workshop and Writer's Workshop.

Collaborative Co-Teaching ELL kids are no longer pulled out of the classroom for instruction - instead, ELL teachers co-teach with classroom teachers. In fact, all students benefit from the added attention! Sra. DeFrance enjoys co-teaching and is doing a study of co-teaching for her master's degree.
